Micro-businesses

Due to economic conditions in Jericho and the West Bank, many have difficulty finding employment. This means families suffer a limited financial base. Right now, jobs are few and many look for opportunities in surrounding cities, which are more than an hour of travel time.
Seeds of Hope is investing in established local businesses and providing small business loans to open new ones. These projects, such as egg farms, date palm farms, and the cyber café, will provide a steady income for managers and their employees.

Green Valley Restaurant -- $65,000

Seeds of Hope has adopted this restaurant for financial help and to encourage new business by bringing tours in to experience the "taste" of Jericho. When tour buses pull in to Green Valley Restaurant, they are treated to a savory lunch along their journey which helps bring new business to this "family owned" restaurant, keeping them in business.

Egg Farm -- $32,000

The first phase of this project has been fully funded. However, we will need an additional amount for the next phase to increase the number of chickens to 6,000. This project will help 15 families in the northern area. Each family has an average of 5 persons who will profit from this project financially.

Date Palm Farm -- $42,000

This project will help an estimated 200 families with an income of approximately $5,000 annually at harvest time.

Cyber Cafe / Library -- $65,000

This cafe will draw many different age groups, provide jobs, and with a small library, will give young people and others a chance to do research for school projects and provide a safe environment for studies and socializing.
